CAIRO — A 40-year-old Egyptian man hanged himself over Egypt’s elimination from the World Cup finals in a 1-0 loss to England Thursday, police said.
“My life came to an end when Egypt’s match with England ended,” a suicide note said.
Police said today that Sayed Abdel-Al, a government employee said to have been suffering from depression, was found dead in his apartment in Damietta.
