William Perry Hart; Advertising Executive

William Perry Hart, a longtime advertising executive and past president of a homeowners association in Agoura Hills, has died in Thousand Oaks. He was 75.

Mr. Hart worked in retail advertising for more than 40 years before retiring in 1983 and later served two years as president of the Annandale II Homeowners Assn.

He died Thursday of heart failure, said his wife, Adeline Hart.

Born July 30, 1914, in Hobart, Okla., he moved to California with his parents in 1932 and graduated from Los Angeles High School soon afterward. He worked about 45 years in retail advertising for companies including the May Co., Bullock’s, Sears Roebuck and the Los Angeles Times Mirror Press. His career took him throughout the United States and he taught advertising classes at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., Golden Gate University in San Francisco and Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind.

After retiring, Mr. Hart volunteered three times a week as a driver for the Meals on Wheels program in Agoura Hills and Westlake Village, taking lunches to house-bound elderly residents.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years; a son, Bill Hart of Thousand Oaks; a daughter, JoBeth Hart Speyer of Coral Gables, Fla; and four grandsons.

Private services are planned. Arrangements are being handled by Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village.
