FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Fiesta Opens Today at Mile Square Park

Cartoon character Bart Simpson will be just one of the 60,000 people expected to attend the eighth annual Fountain Valley Fiesta opening today at Mile Square Park.
The six-day event will include more than 120 food and crafts booths, nightly musical headliners and carnival rides. There will also be appearances by celebrities, including RoboCop on Saturday afternoon and the The Simpsons on Sunday.
Rock musician Joe Walsh will also headline the July 4 celebration and kick off the fireworks and laser show at 7:30 p.m., which FM radio station KLOS will broadcast live.
Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children ages 6 to 10. Children age 5 and under will be admitted free. Carnival rides are free with admission and all entertainment seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The fiesta opens at 5 p.m. today, Monday and Tuesday, and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday.
