Ex-Officer Sentenced for Felony Grand Theft

Share

A former Los Angeles police officer was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for swindling $50,000 from a wealthy businessman as part of an alleged plot to kill two of the man’s associates.

Keith Moser, 30, was arrested after accepting $50,000 from businessman Robert Furlong as payment in an alleged plot to kill two of Furlong’s business associates.

Moser, an officer for three years, was acquitted in September of charges of solicitation to commit murder, assault and extortion. Jurors deadlocked 8 to 4 to convict him of the felony grand theft count, and Moser was then retried on that charge and convicted May 24.
