Lucero Wins Speedway Scratch Main Event

Steve Lucero of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was second, Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was third and Mike Faria of Riverside was fourth.

Andy Northrup of Ontario won the eight-lap handicap main event. Schwartz was second, Lucero was third, Mark Hannah of Sunset Beach was fourth and Faria was fifth.

Jason Chison of Newport Beach won the five-lap second division main event and Greg Appelman of Downey won the four-lap third division main event.
