West Hollywood : Single ZIP Code Sought
The City Council approved a resolution asking the U. S. Postal Service to give the city a single ZIP code, and directing the city staff to monitor legislative efforts relating to the redrawing of ZIP code boundaries.
The city now has three ZIP codes, all of which also include territory in neighboring parts of Los Angeles.
The city has asked residents to testify on problems they have experienced under the current system. Some have already complained that mail service is faster to certain parts of the city depending on the ZIP code.
