Deputy Arthur Bielz was treated Sunday at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital for a broken nose and scratches to his face.

Lt. Gary Backman gave this account:

Bielz and Deputy Richard Barrios tried to break up a fight between Ibarra and another man in Warring Park at Orchard and Center streets about 7:30 p.m. Ibarra started fighting with Bielz, and two other men, Rudolfo Orozco, 23, and Vasquez Villanueva, 26, both of Fillmore, joined the fracas.

After squelching the fight, deputies searched Orozco’s car and found a .25-caliber automatic pistol hidden under the seat, Backman said.

Orozco, who was released on bail Monday after being held on suspicion of resisting arrest and carrying and concealing a weapon.
