A man was stabbed in the stomach and hit in the head Wednesday afternoon when he woke from a nap on the couch to find a man in his home, a sheriff’s official said.
Bill Hampton, who lives in the 13000 block of Aurora Drive, was in serious but stable condition at Sharp Memorial Hospital Wednesday, said a hospital spokeswoman. The Sheriff’s Department and the hospital could not confirm Hampton’s age.
The intruder made off with Hampton’s wallet and his 1975 Ford two-door sedan, said Sgt. Roy Stamper.
