MOORPARK : Truck Crashes, Spills 600 Gallons of Fuel
A 1,500-gallon diesel truck overturned in Moorpark on Friday morning, spilling about 600 gallons of fuel onto Broadway and Grimes Canyon Road, authorities said.
Daniel Perez, 21, lost brake power on his Looman Distributing Inc. truck, crashed into a eucalyptus tree and overturned about 9:30 a.m., said Capt. Carl Prater of the Ventura County Fire Department.
The tree fell on a 250-pound gas regulator but did not rupture the device used to reduce pressure. About 45 firefighters responded.
Perez was treated at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital for moderate back injuries, Prater said.
