GARY COLEMAN

Stumbo disappointed me greatly as she made it seem that in almost two years with this office nothing was done for Gary Coleman. She left out information regarding a pilot deal to do “Gary’s Court,” a half-hour sitcom a la “Night Court” with Gary playing a judge. It was a pay-or-play deal, and, unfortunately, the project didn’t go and Gary was paid a good deal of money. Gary was the “Star of the Week” last year and received $10,000 for the week. When Gary first joined this office and right after the Winchester Festival, I put him on the “Today Show” and shortly thereafter on Bob Costas’ highly rated show.

In addition, months were spent with the Disney Channel to find a project for Gary there. Gary met with numerous executives, including the president of the Disney Channel. Almost a full year was spent trying to package “The Frankie Lymon Story.” A deal was finally made to take an option on the script by Ventura Productions, but to date a deal has not been set for Gary.
