Business Sales Rise in May: A rebound in business sales in May helped keep inventories growing at a moderate rate--another sign of economic expansion, the Commerce Department said. Inventories totaled a seasonally adjusted $799.4 billion, up 0.4% after April’s 0.3% gain. Business sales shot up a seasonally adjusted 0.9% in May, nearly recovering from a 1% drop a month earlier. It was the strongest increase since February, when sales rose 1.4%.
