Jerome Casey of Sylmar High will not attend USC in the fall because he failed to score at least 700 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Such a score is needed to meet the NCAA’s academic requirement for freshmen athletes. Casey, a running back who played linebacker and safety, had accepted a scholarship under the condition that he score at least 700 on the SAT.
