WARNING WILL ROBINSON: Billy Mumy & the Generators’ Thursday gigs at Club Blak & Bloo, 7574 Sunset Blvd., have turned into an alternative to the China Club for the Hollywood set. Spotted at a recent show were actor William Katt (“Capitol Son,” “Greatest American Hero”), singer Nicolette Larson and a healthy contingent from the cast of “Santa Barbara.”

Mumy, you may recall, was the child star of “Lost in Space” (something he addresses in his song “Grown-up Child Star”) and the band also features David Jolliffe (the wise-cracking, redhead Bernie from “Room 222”) and actor Miguel Ferrer (“RoboCop”--and he’s the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney). But given that Mumy is also half of the mondo-bizarro Barnes and Barnes (“Fish Heads”), the shows occasionally take a twist toward the surreal: A couple weeks ago the band was joined on one song by none other than Debby (“You Light Up My Life”) Boone. The appearances move to Wednesdays in August.

For the more Post-Modernly inclined, the Shari Famous Show at the Pink, 2810 S. Main St., Santa Monica, offers the same mix of neo-cabaret and performance art-tinged comedy that it had been sporting at Cafe Largo. Last week Famous got her mother to join in on a version of the Doors’ “20th Century Fox,” made a “phony phone call” to a randomly selected gentleman (whom she actually enticed to come down to the restaurant for a date with her during the show) and hosted musical and comedy acts including the Underthings, Rotondi and the Screaming Sirens. Among those listed on the schedule for tonight is . . . the Beatles!
