President’s Son and Bailouts of Failed Savings and Loans

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are pressing the attorney general to appoint an independent counsel to investigate Neil Bush.

I have no problem with such action; but to be fair, shouldn’t independent counsels be appointed to investigate each of the “Keating Five”? Could they have conspired to interfere with the duties of a federal bank regulator? Is such an act illegal? I don’t know; but I fail to see how one can rationalize the investigation of Neil Bush and not the “Keating Five.”
