An Aug. 4 memorial service is planned for Marion B. Reuting, 89, a child-care administrator with Burbank Unified School District for 28 years, who died July 8 of heart failure.

Mrs. Reuting worked at the nursery school at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School from 1933 to 1938. She worked five years as assistant state supervisor for the Federal Works Agency in Los Angeles before returning to the school district in 1943 to become assistant supervisor of the War-Time Child Care program during World War II. In 1946, she became directing supervisor of the district’s nursery school and child-care program, a position she held until her retirement in 1966.

Mrs. Reuting died in an Atascadero nursing home, where she had lived the past two months. She had suffered from diabetes for years, said her daughter Allison Wood.
