Boy on Bicycle Shoots 2nd Cyclist to Death
A boy on a bicycle pulled a handgun and fatally shot a 28-year-old man in South Los Angeles on Tuesday as they biked along Compton Avenue, Los Angeles police said.
The youthful gunman, thought to be between 12 and 14, then rode away as witnesses watched. The victim, shot once in the chest, died at California Medical Center. His name was not released pending notification of relatives.
Detective Bernie Skyles said the motive is unknown but said police are investigating the possibility that the shooting was gang-related. Skyles asked witnesses to call the Newton Division station.
