Under pressure of $5,000 daily fines, Brian Shaw agreed to break his contract with an Italian basketball team but remained opposed to rejoining the Boston Celtics, his attorney said.
Laura Carroll, the attorney, said she couldn’t comment on whether Shaw, a point guard, would accept a trade to another NBA team.
The fines, which began Saturday, reached $30,000 Thursday.
