Share

The Huntington Beach Art Center Foundation’s first fund-raiser will be a four-day horse show next week at the Central Park Equestrian Center.

The GTE Directories Summer Classic will be Aug. 9-12. Proceeds will help refurbish an 11,000-square-foot building at 538 Main St. that is being converted into the city’s new Art Center. The center is scheduled to open in the fall of 1991.

Activities Aug. 9 and 10 will include hunter- and jumper-class competitions for speed and style. The high jump competition Aug. 11 will be followed Aug. 12 by a competition between the winning horse in that event and three-time Olympic Games medalist Dwight Stones.
