Itel Corp.: The Chicago-based shipping firm said its second-quarter income of $16 million was about the same as last year’s. Sales increased 7% to $576 million. The company said interest expense related to sizable minority investments in American President Cos. and Santa Fe Pacific kept earnings from being higher.
