McDonnell Douglas Corp. announced that it has filed a shelf registration with the SEC for $1.15 billion in senior and/or subordinated debt securities . . . Craig Corp., Los Angeles, announced that effective today the stock symbol used for trading its common stock on the NYSE will be CRG and the symbol used for trading its Class A common stock on the NYSE will be CRGPR . . . Stamford, Conn.-based GTE Corp. increased its quarterly common-stock dividend to 39.5 cents from 36.5 cents per share, payable on Oct. 1 to shareholders of record Aug. 22.
