La Verne : Service Fee Ballot Measure
The City Council authorized the wording of a ballot measure that will allow voters to decide in November whether to pay more to keep city services at current levels.
The measure, approved Tuesday night, reads: “Do you support an annual assessment, up to $96 for 10 years, to maintain La Verne’s fire, police and municipal services?” If passed, the council will create a citywide lighting and landscaping assessment district, which will allow the city to transfer money now being used for lighting and landscape maintenance to other services.
