Recall Attempt Withdrawn

Share

A group of Inglewood residents who filed a recall notice against two trustees in the Inglewood Unified School District has withdrawn the recall attempt, according to organizers.

The organizers had criticized the performance of board members Larry Aubry and Thomasina Reed in the March recall notice. Since then, parent activist Charlotte Bell said both board members have met more frequently with residents and have been more responsive to their concerns.

Recall attempt--A story in the Aug. 2 edition of The Times incorrectly stated that organizers of a recall attempt against two trustees in the Inglewood Unified School District had withdrawn their effort. The story should have said that the organizers of the recall did not submit the required signatures to the county registrar-recorder’s office by the July 17 deadline.

Both board members had criticized the recall attempt as without merit.
