MEXICO CITY —
Sara Aldrete Villareal, the alleged high priestess of a drug-trafficking cult accused of sacrificing 15 people, was sentenced to six years in prison for criminal association, her attorney said Wednesday.
Attorney Victor Fernandez Perez Salas said the six-year sentence imposed Tuesday was the maximum allowed by law. Mark Kilroy, 21, of the University of Texas, was among those slain. Aldrete was a former honor student at Texas Southmost College in Brownsville.
