Man Who Killed Puppy Gets 3 1/2 Years in Prison

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. —
A man convicted of killing a puppy with a butcher knife was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison under the state’s toughened cruelty to animals law. Everston Eugene Webb, 22, was sentenced Tuesday after his conviction for aggravated cruelty. Testimony at his trial indicated he killed the dog because it was tearing up his yard.
