Two engines of a Boeing 747 charter jet burst into flames today shortly after the plane landed at Gatwick Airport from Montreal, airport authorities said.

The 439 passengers and crew on Nationair Flight NXA124 were evacuated down emergency chutes and 15 passengers suffered minor injuries, airport and ambulance authorities said.

Two firefighters overcome by smoke and fumes were treated and released.
