Lucille Olsen Gaenger; Retired Traffic Coordinator

Lucille Olsen Gaenger, a retired traffic coordinator who was active with the Mormon church, has died in West Hills. She was 83.

Mrs. Gaenger died Sunday of a stroke, said her son, Rowan Taylor.

In 1938, she moved from her native Utah to Los Angeles, where she coordinated deliveries at the Pillsbury Co., where she worked until her retirement in 1968.

Mrs. Gaenger was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 70 years. She was also a charter member of a women’s musical group called Sempre Musica and served as its president in 1944 and 1945. During the late 1940s and early 1950s, she was a member and conductor of the Turnberin Women’s Chorus, which performed its material in German. She also was president during the 1950s of the Women’s L. A. Traffic Club, a group of women working in businesses related to transportation. She lived in Woodland Hills for 15 years before moving to a convalescent home in West Hills two years ago.

She is survived by her son, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Wednesday. Pierce Brothers Praiswater Mortuary in Canoga Park handled the arrangements.
