THOUSAND OAKS : 2 Men Hold Up 3 Florist Shops
Two men have robbed three flower shops in the Thousand Oaks area this week, first requesting flowers, then demanding cash and battering the store clerks, authorities said.
The men entered two stores Wednesday and requested roses. While the clerks retrieved the flowers, one man locked them in the bathroom while the other raided the cash registers.
They took $75 from Flowers & Gifts by Barbara in Newbury Park about 12:50 p.m. Twenty minutes later, the men entered Flowers & Gifts Just Because in Thousand Oaks and left with $270, sheriff’s Lt. Bill Montijo said.
On Monday, men stole $140 from Flowers For & Gifts To in Thousand Oaks and $25 from the clerk’s wallet, Montijo said.
