Heat Needs a Win to Make Playoffs

The Los Angeles Heat needs one victory in its last two games to secure a playoff berth in the American Professional Soccer League West.

The Heat (9-9, 70 points), enters tonight’s 7:30 game against the host Arizona Condors in third place in the APSL West Southern Division. California (9-10, 80) and Real Santa Barbara (9-9, 75) lead the division. San Diego (8-11, 66), which plays host to Santa Barbara Saturday night at 7:30, has an outside chance for a playoff spot. California is at Santa Barbara on Sunday.

Three teams qualify for the playoffs and only California has secured a spot. Postseason play begins next weekend with the second and third-place finishers playing a home and home series.

L.A. finishes the regular season in Albuquerque, N.M., Saturday night against the New Mexico Chiles.
