Henry Koetters; Retired Oil Executive

Henry Koetters of Granada Hills and Valencia, a retired executive vice president of Mobil Oil Corp., has died at age 70.

Koetters died Tuesday at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills after a brief illness, said his daughter, Kathleen Barlics.

Koetters was born in Quincy, Ill., and moved to Los Angeles with his parents when he was 18 months old. He moved to New Jersey in 1965 and to Kansas City in 1977, where he retired the following year. He moved to Granada Hills in 1979 and to Valencia last year.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Catherine; daughters Diane Eichman of Granada Hills, and Joan Shepard and Kathleen Barlics of New Jersey; a son, Daniel Koetters, also of New Jersey; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday, on would have been his 71st birthday, at St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church in Granada Hills. The arrangements were handled by Noble Chapel. Donations can be made in Koetters’ name to any children’s charity or senior citizens’ project.
