The L.A.-N.Y. Connection: About 100 Angelenos will fly east to hear Andre Previn lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic at a benefit opening on Sept. 26 of Carnegie Hall’s centenary season. The group, head by Lynn and Stanley Beyer, the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s president, includes Henry Mancini and David Begelman. They’ll lunch with Nancy and Zubin Mehta, who once headed the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and attend a reception at Mayor David Dinkin’s Gracie Mansion.
