Bert J. Novak, president and chief executive of Novadyne Computer Systems Inc. in Santa Ana, has picked up the additional title of chairman, the company said Monday.

Novak, a 25-year veteran of the computer industry, led a $65-million management buyout of the company, formerly McDonnell Douglas Field Service Co., in July. The company makes computer systems for businesses and government agencies.

“The same effective management team that was formed approximately three years ago and helped put this company together will continue to run Novadyne,” Novak said.

In a separate announcement, the company said it has entered into a dealer agreement with Archon Systems Inc., a computer reseller in San Diego.

Under the agreement, Archon will have exclusive sales rights in Los Angeles and non-exclusive sales rights in San Diego for all Novadyne products.

“We will be working to service our existing customers as well as new ones by providing software support and operating-system support in these areas,” said Philip B. Chait, Archon vice president of sales and marketing.

Novadyne has 1,000 employees--about 300 of them in Orange County--and had revenue of more than $100 million in 1989.
