Advanced Logic Research Inc., an Irvine personal computer company, said Tuesday that it has appointed two outside directors to its board to replace two representatives from the company’s major investor in Singapore.

Therese E. Myers and Kenneth W. Simonds will succeed I.F. Tang and Frederick Tan. Tang and Tan were representatives of Singapore-based Wearnes Technology, which owns about half of ALR’s stock.

As part of ALR’s initial public stock offering in April, the two Wearnes representatives were to be replaced by outside directors.

“We are delighted to have individuals with such impeccable credentials in the computer industry bring their talents and experience to our board of directors,” said Gene Lu, ALR’s president and chief executive.

Myers is a founder and president of Quarterdeck Office Systems, a computer software company.

Simonds is chairman and chief executive of Teradata Corp., a Los Angeles manufacturer of computer systems for managing databases.

ALR also said Tuesday that its stock will be listed on the computerized trading system of the National Assn. of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations in August.
