A former Orange County woman and her daughter were shot to death during a gun battle in Saudi Arabia, but the State Department said it was unrelated to the Persian Gulf crisis.
Kent and Kimberly Hinkson and their 10-year-old daughter Courtney were returning from grocery shopping Tuesday in the Saudi capital of Riyadh when a man fleeing police forced his way into their car, Kent Hinkson’s brother said in Santa Ana.
“My brother said the guy grabbed Courtney and immediately shot her through the throat. The Saudi police were pursuing them and fired at the car. A police bullet killed Kim, another bullet hit Kent in the back of the head,” Greg Hinkson said.
Kent and Kimberly Hinkson moved from Orange County to Saudi Arabia eight years ago.
