Duarte : Rules for Campaign Signs

Share

There will be fewer legal places to put campaign signs in November, and it will cost more to ignore the rules under a new ordinance given preliminary approval by the City Council on Tuesday.

The ordinance amends the current sign ordinance, which prohibits posting on any public facilities, to include trees and poles within public facilities.

The fee for violations has been increased from $5 to $10 for each sign removed by the city.

A public hearing is scheduled for the Aug. 28 meeting, after which the council will make its final decision. If adopted, the ordinance will affect the November elections.
