Two men robbed Lakewood Councilman Larry Van Nostran and one of his employees at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon at Van Nostran’s business, Larry Van’s Auto Center at 1471 Long Beach Blvd. in Long Beach.
The robbers, both carrying revolvers, entered the office of the used-car business at 12:45 p.m. and pushed Van Nostran to the hallway floor. They took his money and wallet, and also took the money and wallet of Reese Nelson.
Police refused to say how much money was involved, but according to Long Beach Police Officer Ron Nelson, it was not a substantial amount.
Two other employees outside in the car lot told police they saw the robbers flee in a blue Chevy Caprice.
