Countywide : Candidate Forms Steering Committee

Share

Arlo Smith, the Democratic nominee for state attorney general, announced Wednesday that he has formed a steering committee in Ventura County to mount a grass-roots campaign that will distinguish him from his Republican opponent, Dan Lungren.

Smith is running on a platform that stresses protecting the environment and advocacy of abortion rights. Lungren opposes abortion and has supported offshore oil drilling.

“We’ve received a tremendous amount of support from Ventura County in the primary,” Smith said in a statement. “We plan to run an aggressive campaign in order to make area voters aware of Mr. Lungren’s extreme anti-choice and anti-environmental positions.”
