From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Cuba has prohibited Nicaraguan national airline Aeronica from using Cuban airspace in its Managua-Miami flight, an Aeronica official said in Managua. Aeronica deputy manager Walter Gutierrez said Cuban authorities told pilots of an Aeronica jet with 104 passengers aboard that they could not fly through the Giron corridor. The plane had to return to Managua, Gutierrez said, adding that the Cubans gave no advance warning of the decision.
