Nonresidential Construction Permit Values

The value of nonresidential building permits was off 17% from last year for the first five months of the year, the most recent period for which information is available. There were some increases, though, in the five major building categories: the value of permits issued for both industrial buildings and stores increased from last year’s totals. Here’s how 1990’s totals compare to 1989. Amounts are listed in thousands of dollars, not adjusted for inflation.
