Lowell, Mass.-based Wang Laboratories said it completed the previously announced sale of its InteCom Inc. unit in Allen, Tex., to Matra S.A., a French maker of military technology and aerospace products for an undisclosed price. Baker Hughes Inc., Houston, reported that the number of working oil and natural gas rigs in the United States dipped by five this week to 987. A year ago, the count was 903.
