Hotel Offers Discounts for Western States

Vagabond Inns is offering discounts at about 40 of its hotels throughout California, Arizona and Nevada through Dec. 31 under its “Camp California” program.

Here’s how it works: Vagabond is giving a 10% discount on a one-night stay, a 15% discount on the second night of a two-night stay, a 20% discount on the third night of a three-night stay, a 25% discount on the fourth night of a four-night stay and a 30% discount on the fifth night of a five-night stay.

Guests don’t have to stay at the same hotel, nor do the stays have to be consecutive nights. For example, there could be 10% off the first night at one hotel, and afterward a 15% discount off the first night at another hotel. Guests receive a card at their first check-in and the dates of stays are recorded on it. After five nights, another series of discounts can be started.

Two children 17 and under can stay free in the same room with a parent. Children also will receive such gifts as door hangers, crayons and drawing/activity books at check-out.

All guests get a free continental breakfast each morning.

Another hotel promotion involving children is ITT Sheraton’s “Summer Fundays,” which runs through Sept. 9 at more than 200 participating hotels in the United States and Canada.

Up to two children, 12 years and under, receive a free breakfast each morning. Children 17 and under can stay free in a room with a parent as long as no extra bed is required.

In Arizona, many hotels are offering reduced summer rates. The Sheraton Scottsdale Plaza Resort has rooms and suites starting at $49 and $59 through Sept. 3. The Ritz-Carlton in Phoenix has rates starting at $79 per night through Sept. 14.

The Radisson Suite Hotel in Tucson is offering a weekend rate of $54 for one to four persons through Sept. 30. The offer includes a two-room suite, complimentary buffet breakfasts, access to tennis courts, use of exercise facilities and two cocktails per adult in the evenings.

The Sheraton Tucson El Conquistador has rates at $75 per night during the summer and is offering a $25 credit for use at any of the resort’s restaurants or activities such as tennis, golf and horseback riding.
