Airlines Discuss Worldwide Price Hike: Representatives of the world’s major airlines opened a three-day meeting in Geneva to discuss fare increases in light of the Persian Gulf crisis. The conference is expected to result in a worldwide fare hike of at least 5% by Oct. 1, after government approval in countries where airlines are regulated. Fifty-eight of the International Air Transport Assn.’s 200 member airlines are at the meeting.
