I wish that the president of Iraq tomorrow would just say that these guys can go home.

It is so contrary to Arabic hospitality to take hostages. (Arabs) love to be loved. That’s why I find (hostage-taking) so hard to understand.

You have to keep reminding people that there are seven (American) hostages in Lebanon. That frightens hostage families. They (the families of the Iraqi hostages) don’t want to hear that this can go into months and months and years.

Sunday, I put yellow ribbons on the trees around the (USC) ministry. I tied them for Terry (Anderson) and Tom (Sutherland) and the others in Lebanon, basically to remind people that there are (other) hostages. I’ve always felt that if one American was held hostage, we’re all held hostage.

Hostage-taking has been going on for the last 10 years. We’re at risk no matter where we go.
