Shanghai, Opera Acrobats to Perform

The gymnastic stunts of the Shanghai Acrobats and the balletic displays of the Peking Opera Acrobats will be paired with the spectacle of the Imperial Warriors of the Peking Opera for one performance at 8 p.m. Saturday at the San Diego Sports Arena.

This all-new program, based on traditions that date back for centuries, will include a re-creation of four popular martial arts sequences from the Peking Opera repertory. These excerpts will be fully staged and costumed with their original opulence.
