Air Europe

Two pieces of information your readers might like to hear about: We recently returned from Europe, where we came across a wonderful airline called Air Europe (AE). If travelers are tired of very high air fares in Europe, consider AE for low fares and great service.

AE flies B747, B737 and Fokker 100 aircraft and operates to many key cities throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. The service is great. Most U.S. travel agents can tell you more about them.

And beware of your baggage at Dusseldorf Airport. The lack of security there is extraordinary. Anyone can walk in off the street into the “arrivals” area, enter the customs baggage claim area and then walk off with whatever bags he or she wants. There’s no check on whether this or that bag belongs to this or that passenger.

We asked an airport official about it and he said thefts from the baggage claim area are on the increase. Why doesn’t the German Airport Authority (or whomever) do something about it?
