Subscribers Protest Prodigy Charges: A group of Prodigy subscribers are trying to organize a boycott of retailers who advertise on the electronic information service. The move is in response to plans by Prodigy to start charging subscribers for electronic mail messages they send to other home computer users. Under the plan, subscribers will be entitled to 30 free messages a month, but must pay 25 cents for each additional message. Prodigy said only a few dozen of its 465,000 subscribers are protesting.
