LPA (formerly Leason Pomeroy Associates) has received the 1990 Firm Award from the California Council of the American Institute of Architects. The 25-year-old architecture, planning and interior design company--which was part of the design team for the new John Wayne airport terminal--has offices in Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento. The award is given each year to a California architecture firm that has produced consistently distinguished architecture for a decade or more. This is the first time in eight years that the award was given to a firm not based in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Among LPA’s major projects in Orange County are the Hutton Sports Center at Chapman College in Orange; 4 Hutton Centre , POD Inc. and MacArthur Place in Santa Ana; Clubhouse Five at Leisure World in Laguna Hills; and Executive Park, E.R. Squibb & Sons, University Montessori, One Venture, and Innovation Center in Irvine.
