FULLERTON : University Plans Concert by Starlight

Fireworks and classical music will highlight Cal State Fullerton’s free Concert Under the Stars on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

A 5:30 p.m. picnic featuring Mexican-style dinners will precede the seventh annual concert on the lawn of the campus Performing Arts Building.

As part of the annual community event, the university’s wind ensemble will perform light classical music under the direction of Mitchell Fennell, musical director for the event.

Cal State Fullerton’s new president, Milton A. Gordon, will also announce the university’s Volunteers of the Year award, given annually by the Coordinating Council of Support Groups.

The music is free for those sitting on the lawn or bringing their own chairs.

Tickets for reserved seats are $4 and can be had by calling (714) 773-3371.

For those interested in dinner and a seat, tickets are $12.50 for adults, $9.50 for children, available only by calling the number above.
