Joan Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rosenberg, says she’s changing her surname to Rivers “out of respect for my mother.”

The 22-year-old daughter of the comedian-talk show host and producer Edgar Rosenberg, who committed suicide in 1987, said her mother has worked hard in show business for 25 years.

“Everyone knows my last name is Rosenberg and I think it’s time my mom has gotten a lot of credit for what she has done,” she said on the syndicated TV show “Geraldo.”
