Dairy Recalls Milk Sold at Vons Outlets

Share

Jerseymaid dairy Wednesday recalled low-fat milk it sells at Vons outlets under two labels because of complaints it has a peculiar odor and taste.

Some 28,000 gallons of low fat milk sold under the Jerseymaid and Westwood labels in the gallon, half-gallon and quart sizes are being recalled, said Vons representative Vickie Sanders. The cartons are dated Sept. 17.

The milk should be returned to either Vons, Pavilions, or Tianguis stores. No serious health problems have resulted, the firm said.

It was the third such recall in the last six months by Jerseymaid and occurred “because of an inadvertent error by an employee who filled an empty tank before a sanitation process” said Sanders.
