June P. Boardman; Longtime Valley Resident

June P. Boardman, who lived in the San Fernando Valley for most of her life, has died at her Sun Valley home. She was 91.

Mrs. Boardman died Monday of natural causes, her granddaughter, Laura Huff, said.

She was born June Proctor on June 4, 1899, in San Jacinto, and while still an infant moved to the San Fernando Valley, where her grandmother was a an early settler. She graduated from Polytechnic High School and, at 19, married security guard Norman C. Boardman.

Mrs. Boardman was a longtime resident of San Fernando and had lived in Sun Valley since 1948, where she belonged to the Faith Baptist Church.

She is survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and children, Elinor Louise Boardman Huff and Norman (Speed) Boardman.

Visitation is planned from 8-10 a.m. Monday at Noble Chapel, 1231 First St., in San Fernando, which is handling the arrangements. A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth. Contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
